Mrs. Smith is employed by a local bank as a Vice President in Default Servicing. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Edward Waters College and she has over 20 years experience managing corporate operations and mortgage servicing. She is active in the community and has a passion for youth empowerment. She serves as the Youth Director at her church and is also the Executive Director of The 1Eighty Group, Inc. a non profit organization that promotes academic and economic enrichment initiatives for youth. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and she genuinely enjoys helping people. She often shares “Good is the enemy of great”, a quote from a book by Jim Collins, as one of her favorite phrases to ignite forward momentum. She loves, lives and leads like Christ and requires the same from everyone around her.
Ms. Wootson was a Supervisor of the Records Department for the City of Jacksonville. She began work in September 1978 and was with the city for over 38 years when she retired in 2010. Her role with the city was to handle records, various official documents, calculate fees and taxes and collect fees for state and individual reports. She also worked with the Auctions Section of the Records Department. When she retired, she had been the supervisor of the department for 32 years. Prior to her retirement she had volunteered with North Florida Educational Institute where she assisted with record keeping. Her hobbies include crocheting and puzzles. She has a son, a daughter and two grandsons.
